Description
i am not one for telling newsworthy stories but in this image above from looking at seeing the original photo that was in color it didn't look at all appealing but after a few tweaks and a bit of heavy post work if you look closer you will see a part of now my home city gone for ever.Chelmsford got its name from the Romans and even though it started out as a market town most of its buildings were built in the 20th Century i:e probably early 50's 60's and right through up into the 1980s and so on
but if you focus on the building in the center all covered in graffiti most parks or recreation grounds that i have come across have like cafes or places that you can buy refreshments.As the times roll on businesses such as small traders sell up and move on
hence why buildings end up being abandoned,behind this building/cafe were two rows of houses that made up what used to be Park Road
Central Park from what i have been reading up on used to be for recreation ie sport athletics and so on so the assumption was before a road was put in between where the park and former houses stood (Park Rd) people could walk directly into the park itself as on the corner of these houses there is a kind of memorial garden. All which you now see in this photo has all been since demolished that also includes the 1960's kind of office buildings ( i need to check if that is still standing) which used to be part of an university ( i have photos of when the bulldozers moved in lol) and before that it used to be the main library
So there we have it a photo that i had in my collection since 2006 and until now i thought it vanished under a whole lot of other photos what with hard drive crashes changing computers and so on.This version was done in 2011
